Lance is chief executive officer of Markit. He founded Markit in 2001, together with a team of credit market professionals.
Prior to Markit, Lance was vice chair of TD Securities and head of its Europe and Asia divisions, responsible for global credit trading. His responsibilities included investment grade credit trading portfolios with a value in excess of USD 15 billion. Lance joined TD Securities in 1995 from CIBC World Markets where he worked for nine years, most recently as head of global fixed income. He began his banking career in 1986 at Wood Gundy Inc. in Toronto.
Lance graduated from the Simon Fraser University in Canada with a BBA and holds a MSc from the London School of Economics.
