Department Overview
Markit Economics is a specialist compiler of business surveys and economic indices, including the Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) series, which is now available for 26 countries and key regions including the Eurozone and BRIC. The PMIs have become the most closely-watched business surveys in the world, favoured by central banks, financial markets and business decision makers for their ability to provide up-to-date, accurate and often unique monthly indicators of economic trends.
Role Summary
The individual will be responsible for contributing to the creation, development and maintenance of the product suite within the business. Designing, monitoring and assisting in the delivery of new projects and promoting the new products to both the Markit sales team as well as to clients. The individual will liaise with both clients and other Markit departments to identify new product opportunities, defining requirements and working with internal teams to ensure delivery whilst managing client’s expectations. The individual will support the co heads of the product and other team members in developing products and managing client implementations. The position will be based in London, but will work closely with other product specialists in London, New York and Singapore.
Duties and Responsibilities
The role will work closely with clients, sales, client services and the Dividend, Index and ETF development and product service teams to drive the development of new products.
During product development phases, the individual will be closely involved in contributing to business and user requirement documents, identifying data sources, validating data, testing and contributing to sales collateral.
Manage client specific initiatives and any development of ‘in-house’ business deliverables.
Work closely with both clients and the operations team to review, monitor, and enhance third party data quality
Meet with clients regularly to promote product initiatives and support the sales process and client presentations
Research and identify new opportunities across the product range.
Produce internal business cases for new product development opportunities.
Produce/ maintain product factsheets and sales support literature to promote product range.
Research and produce competitor and market opportunity statistics
