Role Summary
Markit is seeking an experienced testing professional to join the Markitwire Team. They will develop a comprehensive and repeatable automated test process for a high-profile project.
This person will report directly to the Test Manager and work with an experienced Test Team to contribute to the quality of the tests.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Prepare test plans, test scripts and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements specifications
- Execute manual system tests and identify those that can be automated for regression purposes
- Develop and maintain an automated regression test suite
- Ensure defects and incidents are identified, prioritised and dealt with, and that any new versions of software are released in a controlled and timely manner
- Prepare test summary reports
- Manage risk and take contingency action where necessary
Business Competencies
- University graduate or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience in automated tests
- Proven system / regression testing experience, with a blend of manual and automated testing
- Excellent understanding of software systems and development
- Experience working with V development life-cycle methodology
- Experience of any programming language, preferably VB and SQA Basic
- In-depth experience writing automated tools / scripts
- Experienced in white box and Black box testing
- Experienced in defect reporting, tracking and retesting
- Knowledge of automated testing techniques
- ISEB/ISTQB certification
- Automated test tools experience
- Rational tools experience (desirable)
- Experience of related projects and system development lifecycles
- Awareness of Derivatives products (desirable)
